Lava Flow Hump

Much in the news about our beloved Big Island lava. From deep within the bowels of our planet, 2,200-degree hot bobbling molten lava is pushed to the surface powered by the fire Goddess Pele. She popped up in a forested neighborhood of 1,700 folks.
We know of 35 homes so far that have been vaporized to the volcanic heat. This area of approximately 10 square miles is a modern day “HELLs Inferno” for those with homes in this area. Few places to go, rain, smoke & gas, uncertain futures. Some not knowing still if they have homes to return to.
Amazingly it is not affecting the rest of the Island and it’s business as usual at all our resorts.
We all care greatly for our neighbors whether the tragedy was from a flood, hurricane, forest fire or tsunami on our shores or others, we are there to help. Islanders don’t ask for much, rather doing it ourselves but if you find it in your heart to donate please let it flow.

Photos are from a previous lava flow.
