Castle Hump
The Academy Awards come alive with Lady Gaga singing the Sound of Music’s anthem and gets a standing ovation. The 50-year-old Sound of music movie takes place during World War II at this beautiful castle “Schloss Leopoldskron” in Austria outside of Salzburg.
The von Trapp kids running around the golden flowered fields surrounded by spectacular blue Alps as Julie Andrews leads them in a sing along. Then they escape to America.
My favorite breakfast room is on the second floor next to the wooden library with a 30-foot ceiling, where I would get emails on an old IBM computer, on an antique desk at the window with views “Oh the views”. I felt like James Bond staying there. A truly special experience.
The movie is still a big hit with Americans; but the funny thing is very few people in Austria have ever seen or heard of the movie.
Enjoy your Hump day,
