I live amongst a group of amazing heroes, men and women who will be out before the sun is up to provide an awesome experience for total strangers at the Lavaman Triathlon. It all starts over coffee, then wine, lists are made and notes are taken, the plan is put into motion. Many parts and people are put together to create the most beautiful triathlon in the world.
By the end thousands of volunteer hours will be donated out of community service and a love for this sport. Our Kona families and small businesses will be giving their precious time and resources to make this all happen on race day and get it all cleaned up and put away before dinner.
These beautiful folks put in incredibly intense long hot sweaty days so our athletes can have a great race day. Be safe out there, drink & smile for the camera and give a big “Mahalo” if you see that coveted Lavaman volunteer shirt.
