When Elvis first came home from the pound (Hawaii Island Humane Society), he was still on heavy pain meds from his weight loss surgery (neutering). He was confused, dazed, and about to learn his first major lesson.
Birgit gave him the big “NOOO!” when he tried to come into our kitchen. Now 10 years later Elvis still obeys Birgit’s rule. Well kind of.
As kids, Mom always said mind your manners. So, when we get invited to a friend’s home, they commonly include Elvis because they know he has excellent manners. Even if he begs hysterically with his deep sad eyes. He’s a pro.
Like many of us, he pushes his boundaries.
