Fishing story
Aloha Hump Day,Todays hump photos are of my favorite fishing partner & Dad. Pops, Rocky & I headed out from Keauhou Bay on the Hokulia for some fun light tackle fishing. Pops has had all the big fish he or I will ever need, so he wanted some spirited reel time on some small fighting fish.
He got hooked up with the Inogen Oxygen system that allows Pops to carry his oxygen maker in a small backpack where ever he wants.
No more visits to restaurants rolling a tank over people’s toes, easy in and out of cars but most important, easy to fly with. So now Pops and his child bride can visit Hawaii more often without the security hassles and skinny airline isles.
So without light tackle we were stuck dragging plastic (lures) for 2.5 hours in which time Pops shared many of his best stories “again” and even a new one I had not heard of his 85 years.
He eventually landed a Mahi Mahi that filled my freezer shelves for my winter hibernation but the big score was a new story about my Dad.Happy 85th Birthday Pops.Aloha from David & Birgit
