Elvis on the ramp

Long after bed time, lots of kids are up listening in from down the halls. So is true at our home. Every night at 9pm sharp Elvis tells us it’s bed time. He climbs up on his handicap ramp and waits to be carried up the stairs as was our routine for the past four months post knee surgery but now he gets a firm NO and he, using all fours, then just takes himself upstairs and goes to bed, after 5 minutes the night light goes off leaving Elvis alone in the dark.
After a while Elvis hears us laughing at the Tv, curious he slides off the bed, on comes the motion sensor light again as Elvis now lays on the top of the stairs, waiting…….waiting waiting, he puts his head down and soon the motion light goes off, startled he sits up and the motion light goes on. Off – on, up – down, off – on, up – down,…off – this goes on and on for 30 minutes before we finally give in and come to bed where Elvis greets us with a large exhale, the Elvis sigh.
If he had a Swiss Army Paw watch he would be looking down at it with a huff – “bout damn time!”
Enjoy your hump day!
