Aloha Hump Day,
For Hump day Earth day we share this shot of the tide pools and reef of Keauhou. In the background are the rebuilt sacred ancient Hawaiian Heiau (temple), Hapaiali’i & Ke’eku. Once used to study the sun, worship, sacrifice and give birth.
Believed in pre-historic times to have taken 1000’s of people 10 years to construct by hand, dry stacking the stones tightly to hold off the waves. Using today’s technology and equipment it took 4 men 4 months to rebuild.
This shot was taken from the roof of the Keauhou Beach Hotel using a 15mm fisheye lens providing the viewer with a worldly angle of view.
Aloha Hump Day,
