You know true Dog love when you have a fur buddy like Elvis. To see him run at full speed is like watching the greatest athlete perform at his best.
In March 2017, while chasing down a dirty rotten mongoose, Elvis blew out his rear knee, his ACL was destroyed. A crippling event for a great hunter like Elvis, left only able to limp with a hanging rear leg and obviously in great pain.
The future wasn’t looking bright until Dr. Jacob Head of the Keauhou Veterinary Hospital said “I can fix him”, the joy welled up in my eyes, my knees shook, “he will make it back”.
The last image is of Dr. Head’s skilled craftsmanship installing titanium plates and screws with artificial ligaments and tendons. An exceptional high skill set rarely found in Hawaii. Lucky for our family.
The round spot you witness in the X-Ray is a BB bullet someone shot into poor Elvis’s body with a high-powered gun. Not a health issue to Elvis but SICKENING to us.
Now – 2 years later, Elvis is still going strong thanks to the staff at the Keauhou Veterinary Hospital.
