December 12th is National Poinsettia Day in the Americas. We are blessed here in Hawai’i to have them going on the road sides each Christmas season.
A young Mexican girl is believed to have given a simple plain plant as a gift to the Christ Child in a nativity scene, it is rumored to have bloomed bright red when placed in the manger. Witnesses believed it to be a miracle.
Here in Holualoa, Hawai’i poinsettias grow up to 12 feet high.
Enjoy the Season.
