Patty’s Garden Hump

It’s hard to describe the details in my mother’s gardens. The flower beds aren’t beds at all but actually hundreds of multi sized blooming flower pots all linked like Legos. An extraordinary amount of work, love and care. Not a leaf out of place, true perfection, just waiting for a painter or a landscape photographer.
An ornate bench sits next to a 100-foot Giant Red Wood tree that is dwarfed by 999 small potted plants. Roses dominate but geraniums, flowering succulents and ivies flow through like a green wave.
I’m told it took many sons hands and truck loads to move them all in. She does 95% of the work herself, spending 3 hours each day “gardening” and sweeping up those darn redwood needles. I think this is her secret to the fountain of youth.
I am so proud of her, can you tell? Happy Aloha Birthday Mom.

                                      Happy Hump Day
